Greetings Chiropractic Family
Now that school is back in session I just can’t believe the amount of traffic on the roads.
I live about a mile from the office and this morning it took me 35 minutes to drive my daughter to the high school.
With each pocket of traffic, I could feel my stress level getting higher and higher.
In the end, everyone got where they needed but talk about extra stress in the morning
This morning really made me think.
What does this stress do to us?
This only happens to me occasionally, but what about the people who go through this daily.
Stress is such a huge burden to the body.
And the root cause of so many diseases.
Here is a list of conditions often associated with stress
Anxiety
Depression.
Digestive problems.
Headaches.
Muscle tension and pain
Heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke
Sleep problems
Weight gain
Problems with memory and focus
So what can we do about it?
How do we cope?
I could have planned more time for my ride and would not have been under so much pressure to get to work and school on time.
But what if you experience chronic stressors daily.
So much stress that our bodies are stuck in a fight-or-flight state permanently
What do we do?
Meditation
Deep breathing
Exercise
One of my favorite breathing exercises that I got from an ex-marine is::
Breath in for a four-count
Hold for a four-count
Breath out for a four-count.
Hold for a four-count
and repeat
This has helped me a lot at different times.
But what else
How can we get out of a chronic stress state?
Chiropractic
Chiropractic Adjustments alleviate tension and pressure on the nervous system and have a huge impact on our stress levels
Many patients talk about how they are able to experience more stress and not get as worked up.
Hopefully, I am not describing you.
But if I am there is help.
These are conditions that we deal with regularly
