We understand how debilitating headaches and migraines can be, and are dedicated to helping you recover naturally.
DO YOU EXPERIENCE THE FOLLOWING SENSATIONS:
Dull aching pain in your head?
Tenderness in your neck, shoulders, and scalp?
Tightness or pressure on your forehead or the side of your head?
Throbbing sensation in your head?
Visual disturbances?
Sensitivity to light and noises?
Our office sees many types of headaches and migraines, and establishing an accurate diagnosis is very important to us.
Tension headaches are very common for those who spend a lot of time sitting, especially working in front of computers. The pain often starts in the neck or base of the skull and travels around to the front of the head. This type of headache can present as a dull aching pain.
Migraine symptoms, however, are often more intense. Many migraine sufferers experience a severe headache and may have accompanying visual disturbances, sensitivity to light and sound, and in some instances, nausea. Some patients who experience this regularly report that they can tell when a migraine is about to occur.
Because of the close relationship between the nerves of the cervical spine and the head, many headaches can originate from dysfunction in the cervical spine.
Poor posture (head forward of shoulders)
Prolonged sitting positions
Dehydration
Trauma or accidents such as whiplash
Stress
Dietary triggers (dark chocolate, red wine)
Dysfunction in the cervical spine
Underlying disease or pathology (rare)
Cooper Chiropractic can help!
At Cooper Chiropractic, we take a holistic approach to treating headaches and migraines. We focus on the entire neuromusculoskeletal system, rather than simply the injury site. This includes the spine as a whole, extremity joints (hip, knee, etc), muscles, ligaments, tendons, and the nervous system.
Dr. Cooper has been providing Chiropractic care to Wayland and the surrounding communities for over 25 years. He loves being part of the community and helping his patients get back to doing what they love to do.
The first step in helping you manage your problem is to make an accurate diagnosis. We achieve this with a comprehensive clinical history and a thorough physical examination, which includes neurological, orthopedic, and musculoskeletal tests, and if needed, further diagnostic investigations such as X-Rays.
Once we have gathered all the information required to make an accurate diagnosis, we will explain our findings to you, then tailor a treatment plan specific to your condition and goals. Because our team is dedicated to helping you manage your pain and reach your goals, if at any stage we determine that you would benefit more from another provider, we will refer you to someone who is best suited to your particular condition.
PREVENTION AND EDUCATION:
To help you achieve the optimal benefits from chiropractic care, our team will prescribe specific rehabilitation exercises just for you, offer sound ergonomic advice for your work or home environment, and provide the necessary tools to prevent future injuries.
